Are you addicted to watching YouTube videos? I am. Many of the videos I watch are about how to make videos (LOL). I’ve been wanting to include video with a project that I’ve been working on for quite some time. But where to start? How about a vlog?

What’s a vlog? Dictionary.com defines it as “a blog that features mostly videos rather than text or images.” So how do you vlog? There are many ways to go about it. You can vlog about how to do something, about your day, book or movie reviews, and the list goes on. Since I was already creating short painting videos and posting them to Instagram, I decided to expand on this format. I took footage from a walk, our garden and me painting and put it together in an app called LumaFusion.

I am happy to announce that last week I created and posted my very first vlog. I loved the process of making it. It’s how my mind works and it was so satisfying to see it come to life. The purpose of my vlog is to share my love for making art and a look behind the scenes of an art business.

Going forward my challenge will be to balance vlogging and studio time. There was a steep learning curve in getting it set up on YouTube so it took a lot longer than I thought it would. Isn’t that always the case? I think with more experience I will be able to produce videos faster. I plan to post 2 vlogs a month on my website. You can find them by clicking on the Blog menu.
